Hi! I'm Melis Baydag.

 

I am a Lecturer and Postdoctoral Researcher at the Chair of European and Global Governance at the Technical University of Munich, and associate researcher at the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS). Previously, I held lectureships at University of Freiburg, Ruhr University Bochum and Technical University of Munich, and was a Visiting Lecturer at the University of Wrocław. I received my PhD from Ruhr University Bochum (Chair of International Politics). I hold a BSc and MSc in International Relations from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey.

My research interests lie in International Relations and International Political Economy, with particular emphasis on the domestic political foundations of foreign policy across emerging and advanced economies, as well as global economic governance, populism, politics of aid, international cooperation, and middle powers.
