Hi! My name is Rena Melis Baydag. I am a researcher at the Department Inter- and Transnational Cooperation of the German Institute of Development and Sustainability (IDOS) in Bonn, Germany as well as a lecturer at the Chair of International Politics at Ruhr University Bochum and Chair of European and Global Governance at Technical University of Munich.

I hold a PhD in Social Sciences with a specialization in Political Science/International Relations. I obtained my BSc and MSc in International Relations from the Middle East Technical University in Ankara, Turkey. I have previously held several guest researcher positions at IDOS since 2017 and was a visiting lecturer at the University of Wroclaw in 2023.

My research interests lie in the International Relations discipline delving into international political economy, domestic politics theories, politics of aid, international cooperation and middle powers. I teach undergraduate and graduate courses on IR theories, interantional political economy, global governance, emerging powers, international organizations and regional integration.
